Play Will Always Shape Us” was the theme of this year’s annual sales meeting held by Landscape Structures, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN. Landscape Structures rolled out exciting new play features for 2019 that reinforce our commitment to designing and providing truly inclusive play environments.

The keynote speaker for the event was Kat Holmes, the author of the book Mismatch: How Inclusion Shapes Design. Holmes is expanding the parameters of “inclusive design” – from the workplace, to the internet, to community playgrounds.  Those in attendance also heard from Tiffany Harris, the co-founder of Shane’s Inspiration, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping create social inclusion for children with disabilities through inclusive playgrounds and education. RecWest has had the privilege of working with Shane’s on over forty Universally Accessible playgrounds over the last twenty years.

The RecWest team would also like to extend a special thank you to Jean Hayes of Landscape Structures as she approaches her retirement. “Jean is the most positive and supportive person I’ve ever worked with,” says Mike Bennett, President of RecWest. “We’re so thankful for her years of service and we’ll certainly miss her.”
