Project Summary
Honoring Rear Admiral Isaac C. Kidd, USN, this playground offers the kids of Long Beach a fun naval-themed play experience with two “ship” play structures “docked” and ready for some imaginative play time with friends. A Cozy Dome® near the smaller play ship gives younger kids a hideaway spot where they can view the activities through port holes and then race each other to the top. The larger play ship features ramped access to a Sway Fun® Glider “dinghy” for added inclusive play for all abilities. A Boogie Board™ and custom Surfboard Wobble Pod® Bouncer to the side of the ship lets kids ride the waves in unique ways. The 34’ ZipKrooz® zipline rider and OmniSpin® Spinner add further excitement to the playground. The swing set has something for everyone with three seat options. Bench seating provides restful spots for parents and caretakers. And there’s plenty of shade to help keep this Long Beach “port” safer from the sun’s rays. All aboard!
